The Hive's live at The Boulevard pool at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

“The Hives” Live September 13,  2012 at The Boulevard pool at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

The Swedish garage rock band “The Hives” have been around since the 2000s as a prominent rock band that is leading the garage rock revival.  Lead singer Pelle Almqvist and the Band most recently played at The Cosmopolitan hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Thursday September 13 they took the stage with Fidlar at The weekly Thursday Social club at the boulevard pool.
The Hives are critically acclaimed by many as one of the most energetic rock bands to see in modern day.  Their signature black and white suites with top hats surely make them stand out to garner the extra attention.  Over the years my musical taste has definitely matured and changed and I was definitely glad that I was able to experience their performance.  I would defiantly recommend that you get to see them in concert when you get the chance.  If you don’t believe me just check out the video from The Hives live at The Boulevard pool Thursday, September 13, 2012 performing  “Come on” , “Thousand Answers”, “My Time is Coming” , “Die Alright” “Wait a Minute” It won’t be Long”,     “Because I wanna”  and “Tick Tick Boom” .  Enjoy the show!

Las Vegas Erupts

Las Vegas Hotel Erupts!!!

The Volcano Erupts!!!

For the cost conscious traveler looking for some Las Vegas hotel deal as well as deals on shows, Las Vegas may seem to be beyond expensive but there are a few bright spots to make sure you hit up. Along with the Bellagio Fountains, and Treasure Islands Pirate show, The Volcano at the Mirage is a must see for not only someone visiting this Las Vegas hotel, but anyone visiting town at all.

Playing once an hour every night beginning at 7pm and ending after the 11pm show, crowds line the street as if you were waiting in line to enter an exclusive Las Vegas nightclub. As with any line, the earlier you are there, the better off you are. People jockey for position to view the amazing site of the volcano erupt as the music begins to play and the drums begin to beat low at first, building to an immense explosion of lava. At this point you may be feeling the intense heat that flows over the crowd making the people further back happy they weren't any closer.

The Mirage has of course done a marvelous job of renovating the volcano recently and after watching guests get excited to see it every night and come away impressed repeatedly, it appears the guests approve.

Las Vegas hotel Treasure Island shows a sizzling street show

Sexy and Seductive(plus they can sing)

The newly redone Sirens show at Treasure Island is known for being a seductive, and enchanting show where a beautiful band of sirens with some sexy dance moves lure a ship of pirates into their cove with their alluring voices and song, (among other things) in this seventeenth century tale of Homers "Odyssey" remade into a more updated upbeat Vegas version of the story compared to the former show "Battle of the Buccaneer" that includes an intense swordfight between the sizzling sirens and the rugged pirates.

Regardless of whether you are a Vegas VIP or if you are on the prowl for cheap Las Vegas hotel deal and free shows should definitely consider the Treasure Island as they even have a special section for any Treasure Island guest right up front for the show. There have even being times that someone in the audience is so impressed that they have jumped in the water right along with the rest of the performers, no doubt a show worth seeing.

What Happens in Vegas.....

May be a lot of fun, but....

Viva Las Vegas, we are known for our gambling, girls and parties. Almost everyone has had some crazy fun they were most likley not supposed to have for one reason or another, and Las Vegas seems to be just the perfect place for that fun.

Never Stays in Vegas

A few years back, Las Vegas put together a very successful advertising campaign around the slogan "Vegas, What Happens Here, Stays Here" which seemed to catch on and helped bring some of the wild side of town back from the years of the town promoting family vacations. There has always been the ability to go wild here in town, but for a few years it was much more family oriented. And now we are back to the wild and crazy Vegas.
With people lining the streets pushing cards of naked women handing them to anyone not making an effort to not take them, as well as driving billboards showing girls to your room in fifteen min it's easy to forget that prostitution isn't legal in Las Vegas. There are also plenty of strip club promoters trying to convince you to take their free limo and entry to the strip club of your choice. Plenty of regrettable decisions are made here also.
Even if you can live with whatever despicable actions you have gotten yourself into on your trip through sin city, you still must remember that not only do secrets slip out. Now that we live in this age of social media, no one can expect their nights out to go unrecorded here, regardless of whether you are Prince Harry or if you are just the guy that is trolling the internet looking for Las Vegas hotel deal and talking to the Las Vegas VIP host arranging their trip while their girlfriend thinks you are elsewhere, Don't become the next in a long line of poor unsuspecting victims that thought whatever they did out here wouldn't follow them back home.

fun times and bad decisions run hand and hand

A Vegas Vacation

Viva Las Vegas!!!

As a Vegas first timer, I had no idea what to expect. I kept hearing from my friends how Las Vegas was a completely different world, and I couldnt wait to find out what that meant. I spent weeks preparing myself, or so I thought for a fun weekend getaway with my girlfriend who also hadnt ever been to Las Vegas. She likes the pools and the clubs, while I enjoy gambling.
Imperial PalaceOnce I scoured the internet for different Las Vegas hotel deal, I finally landed on a package deal that included my flight and hotel and saved a lot more than I expected. By the time the plane left Detroit for my first visit to sin city, I didn't know what to expect.
After we checked in at Imperial Palace, we headed up to our room. We had an impressive view of the strip for how much we paid, all from our balcony which was great because my girlfriend isn't a smoker like I am. Not the nicest room I have ever stayed at, but as far as Las Vegas hotels, I figured I could do much worse.
By the time we got dressed for the night, it was already dinner time. We ate at Kerry Simons KBG over at Harrah's which was awesome. Now we headed outside to wander around for a few hours before we went out to the club. The lights are amazing. We caught the Bellagio fountains and the volcano at the Mirage both of which were very cool. I was however amazed that there were people handing out these cards with half naked girls on them as if they were baseball cards. Only in Vegas.
We ended up being approached by many street promoters who were pushing different Las Vegas nightclub and hotel deal and ended up buying some passes off a guy who promised it would give us easy access with no cover to Tao nightclub. When we got to the club, I never imagined a nightclub could fit as many people as were in line. We walked to the door and showed them our passes when they promptly showed us the line we were supposed to get in unless we wanted a table. I had heard you need to tip guys like this so I made sure to slip him a couple $20s and he let us right to the front of the line. Funny how these places work. Inside was amazing, despite being so crowded it felt like you were always being ushered in one direction or another. The other thing of note is the drinks, at $10-15 each, we didn't stay too long.
On our walk back to Imperial Palace, my girlfriend convinced me to stop in this little outdoor bar called Carnival Court where they had a live band playing and flare bartending which was cool. The drinks were also much more reasonable priced, despite still being twice what I am used to back home. We had a great time though, and that's what is important.
By the time we made it back to the room, it was after 3 am and being on east coast time, was exhausted. Woke up the next afternoon and ordered room service to help with the hangover. We gambled until late again that night wandering up and down the strip until we had lost what we budgeted on gambling, especially loving that new slot machine about the "Hangover" movie.
As we checked out the next morning, I couldn't believe how fast my trip had gone by. There are so many more things that I feel like I didn't get to see. The next trip will be different, but until then I am back to comparing the weather in Detroit to Vegas and searching for new Las Vegas hotel deal.

Las Vegas "Convention city"

55 of the top 250 conventions in the world are held here

Las Vegas is known for its gambling and nightlife, but many visitors end up here for a very different reason. For almost 20 years now we have enjoyed the title of the country #1 destination for conventions or trade shows of some sort. In 2011, almost 5 million people traveled to Las Vegas generating over $4 billion in non-gaming revenue. The city boasts over 10 million square feet of space for these conventions that have turned into in some cases very large events.
Some of these conventions range from CES (consumer electronics show) which brings over 150,000 people to town and brings a very different crowd than a convention like the Adult Entertainment Expo which also brings 30,000 people from the adult entertainment industry mingle amongst themselves and throw their annual awards show.
Most of these visitors come to town and stay close to their convention but there are many that go in search of Las Vegas hotel deal and depending on how popular their show is, may have a tough time finding it. Prices for rooms can skyrocket as conventions approach so it pays to have a Las Vegas VIP host or someone well connected around town to be able to help make sure your whole trip goes smooth #vegashotelsnow #lasvegasconventions #Hotel deals #LasVegasconventioncenter

5 Things I wish I knew before I came to Las Vegas on spring break

1.       There are many affordable dining options besides a $15 cheeseburger, $30 buffet or going to the celebrity chef of your choice restaurant in most Las Vegas hotels…..Wolfgang Puck, Emeril Lagasse, Todd English, Bobby Flay and more.  Although many of the newer casinos are phasing out the McDonalds and such within the casino’s there are many places within that price range like “The Hidden Pizza place” at The Cosmopolitan hotel and casino resort or “The Skybox Sports Bar and Grill” at Aria.  There are also many affordable fine dining meal options for not a Las Vegas fine dining price.  Bautista’s whole in the wall or Ellis island.
2.       You don’t have to book the first hotel room that you see just because.  There are many hotel deals that you can find if you look around.  There is such an abundance of hotel rooms in Vegas that hotels are using so many different forms of third party groups to assist in distributing their inventory that it is almost impossible to find a deal.
3.       Not everyone has the budget to go nightclubs like  Marquee and XS.  There are an abundance of night clubs in Vegas and not everyone is use to going to you XS or Marquee.  Many other night clubs like Pure at Caesar’s Palace, Chateau at Paris and Vanity at The Hard Rock can be a lot easier on your pockets with more consumer friendly guest list policies.  Not to mention that is is easier to get deals on V.I.P. bottle service.
4.       Just because most of the drinks that you purchase on the strip are three times the price they are in most average cities doesn’t mean that all drinks are priced like that.  If you take a taxi a half a mile off of the strip you can find many grocery and liquor stores where you will find alcohol prices cheaper than most U.S. cities.  Casino Royale which is the middle of the Las Vegas strip is a hot spot for dollar beers and margarita’s
5.       Transportation cost can eat away at your budget so be careful where your taxi drivers are taking you.  In modern times of mobile phones and GPS you should be able to know if your driver it taking you the round about way or not.  Also travel in groups to maximize you cost.
